A city skyline souvenir

About

Orlando Charm Company

Orlando Charm Company writes souvenir charms for tourists and locals. Citrus, lakes, flamingo, a skyline. No park trademarks.

A letter on a jump ring, a date on a plate, a park week on a wrist.

Souvenir faces for this city

A flamingo souvenir
A flamingo for the week.

The International Gem Society already uses that split: a charm as a small hanging pendant, a chain as the foundation, a clasp as the closer. We keep hanging pieces in a dangle family, faces-with-holes in a plate family, and the first ring-and-clasp in a starter family so a note can name them in English.

Dangle

Hangs. Disc, drop, letter, or open face, all from a jump ring. Name the letter if the face is a letter.

Plate

A face with a hole. Shield at the top, lozenge through the center, tag at the end. The hole is the instruction.

Starter

Starter. Jump ring, lobster, short chain, one empty place. Measure below the wrist bone. Add an inch for hanging pieces.

Read Reading families for the full taxonomy. How a hang joins lives on Dangle kits.

Orlando

Two cities in one metro

People who write are often in two Orlandos at once. One is the park week: long days, hotel air, sunscreen, a child’s wrist that will go in water. The other is the metro that remains when the parks empty.

Note

Heat belongs in the writing. A lozenge plate with a large face sits on skin. A drop taps a laptop in a downtown office. “Short hang” is a complete request. James Avery’s public charm-bracelet guide is the length convention we cite: 7 inches is the most common women’s charm length.

If a parcel needs to meet you at a hotel, that is a hotel front desk question. Marriott’s public guest-mail note is typical: registered guest name and arrival date on the label, and confirm the property first.

What to put in the note

  1. Family. Dangle, plate, or starter, and the subface if you know it, letter, lozenge, or tag.
  2. Letter. Name the letter. One per dangle unless you say otherwise.
  3. Hole. Top of a shield, center of a lozenge, end of a tag.
  4. Wrist. Length you already wear, or the measurement plus the extra inch.
