Most Orlando trips are not one building. You land at MCO, you ride I-4 or the Beachline toward a hotel, you walk a park, you eat on International Drive, and on some weeks you split the stay. Landing at MCO
Orlando International is a long walk from jetway to curb. Jewelry belongs in the carry-on, on the wrist, or in a pouch you will not check. A checked bag can sit, shift, and open a jump ring that a carry pouch would have left alone. TSA’s liquids rule is about bottles, not charms; the local fact is the wet heat on the other side of baggage claim. Walk out of MCO in June and the air is already damp. The drawer on I-Drive, Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista
Hotel bathrooms here are lotion, SPF, and a wet counter. Enamel and plated metal want a dry drawer. A zip pouch with spare soldered rings, a small pair of pliers, and the faces you are not wearing tomorrow is the travel kit. Front desks hold parcels for registered guests when the property says they will. Confirm the hotel. Guest name and arrival date on the label. Do not put a room number in the public form.
Split stays are common. Park days, then the coast, Winter Park, or a night closer to downtown. The starter stays on the wrist. The pouch moves with the clothes bag. Lake Nona and the Medical City side of town are a quieter week: more car, fewer trams, same heat. A starter ordered from there is still a starter. Do not leave plated charms on a rental-car dashboard while you return the car; Central Florida sun finishes that job.
Heat in a parked car
Summer highs in the low-to-mid 90s, humidity in the seventies and eighties, and a closed car in a Kissimmee or I-Drive lot are not storage. Sunscreen separates. A phone shuts down. A plated charm on a dash can discolor. Bring the pouch inside for lunch. The hotel closet is doing its job. The seat of the car is not.
